This is the young (banded) female, Flitie. Behind her is the emergency nest box that was used for grounded fledglings to "get their bearings". It had just a flat platform as (up to this year) the fledglings were ready to really fly). Flitie had attempted flight too early (needed a few more days to "develop-muscle"). Dave added the sides and "railed" front to the box (ala New Center box style). Flitie is, now, out and about flyin' with her siblings!
